» Introduction
The architectural solution for the reconstruction of the National Museum is completed. One will enter the museum from Republic Square. To the left of the entrance, where there are currently offices, there will be a salon for guests. Next to the salon, there will be a cafeteria, education centre, and boutique where guests will be able to buy replicas of famous artworks.
To the right hand side, the existing library will be moved to the forth floor, and the space will be open to guests towards the existing atrium. The entire reconstructed Museum will be covered with a glass ceiling of 2000 square metres.
On the last floor, above the entrance of the Museum with a view of the Square, there will be an exclusive restaurant. Along with the library, there will also be a reading room.
Following the reconstruction, there will be 10300 square metres of useable space with 7000 square metres being used for showcases. Smaller rooms will no longer exist and the entire exhibition will be in one big area organized around the atrium cylinder.
The solution proposes that the latest technology for security, safety, pereservation, and climate control be installed.
