
We have made a visit to the site of the "Old Mill" where construction of a new hotel is underway. Currently the work is primarily focused on the construction of the underground level, but also on a very demanding restoration of the old mill building, which is protected by the state.
The underground part extends almost the entire surface of the complex and it will serve as a garage space for the hotel guests with access from the front of the building or Vojvode Misica Boulevard. The works on the ground have progressed significantly; even foundations of the future office tower are getting shape.
In parallel with the concrete works on the underground floor, sophisticated reconstruction of the old mill building is also underway. This facility is protected by the state because of its historical importance. This implies that the reconstruction will completely preserve the old look of the building and its facade. Very poor state of the mortar requires that the facility is practically broken down brick by brick, so it could be recreated to the original appearance. The same block of bricks will be reused for the new mill, which is a great curiosity in the whole endeavor. Also a number of items that were in the building were preserved, including the beautiful columns of cast steel, which will again be part of the interior or exterior settings.
At the back of the mill building they are pouring foundation for the hotel tower, they’re finishing remaining excavation and works on the underground garage. The concrete core of the hotel tower is completed up to a ground level and on the top plate they erected a temporary building in which the interior designers are preparing a sample room. Designers will have opportunity to realize their proposal, try out the materials, elements of the finishing works, and many aesthetic details. The test room shall be finished and fitted with furniture in the next three weeks, when it will be presented to the board of investors and financiers.
At the request of hotel operator, in this case Rezidor group, there was also a minor optimization in order to improve functionality to meet the demands and needs of guests. The hotel will be part of the "Radisson Blu" brand and it will provide the highest standards in a 4-star category.
According to information we received, the deadline for completion of all concrete works on the underground floors is August this year. All parts of the complex are constructed simultaneously, and construction work on all buildings of the complex will be finished by the beginning of the 2014.

Posetili smo gradilište “Starog Mlina” gde napreduje gradnja još jednog beogradskog hotela. Radovi su pre svega fokusirani na izgradnji podzemne etaže, ali i na vrlo zahtevnoj obnovi stare zgrade mlina koja je zakonom zaštićen objekat.
Podzemni deo se proteže skoro celom površinom kompleksa i u njemu će se nalaziti garaža čiji je ulaz sa prednje strane objekta, odnosno iz Bulevara Vojvode Mišića. Radovi na tom polju su značajno odmakli, a sa prednje strane se već naziru temelji budućeg poslovnog krila.
Paralelno sa betoniranjem podzemne etaže, radi se i sofisticiran projekat rekonstrukcije starog mlinskog objekta, koji je zbog istorijskog značaja zastićen od strane države. To podrazumeva rekonstrukciju koja će potpuno očuvati stari izgled objekta i njegove fasade. Jako loše stanje veziva zahteva da se objekat praktično razgradi ciglu po ciglu, kako bi se ponovo rekonstruisao u prvobitni izgled. Isti blokovi opeke će biti korišćeni i na novom mlinu, što je poseban kuriozitet celog poduhvata. Takođe su sačuvani i brojni predmeti koji su se nalazili u objektu, ukljućujući i prelepe livene stubove od čelika, koji će opet biti deo unutrašnje ili spoljašnje postavke.
Sa zadnje strane objekta rade se temeljni stubovi hotelske kule, završava se preostali otkop i ploča na nultoj koti. Betonsko jezgro hotelske kule je završeno, a na gornjoj ploči podignut je privremeni objekat u kome se priprema uzorak jedne hotelske sobe. Tu će dizajneri enterijera moći da realizuju svoj predlog kako bi se isprobali materijali, elementi finalne obrade, brojni esteski detalji itd. Test soba biće završena i opremljena nameštajem u naredne tri nedelje, kada će biti predstavljena odboru investitora i finansijera.
Po zahtevu hotelskog operatora, u ovom slucaju Rezidor grupe, izvršena je i manja optimizacija funkcionalnosti kako bi odgovarala zahtevima i potrebama gostiju. Hotel će biti deo “Radisson Blu” lanca i u tom smislu ispunjavaće najviše standarde u kategoriji sa 4 zvezdice.
Prema informacijama koje smo dobili, rok za zavrsetak svih betonskih radova na podzemnim etažama je avgust ove godine. Svi delovi kompleksa se rade paralelno, a građevinski radovi na izgradnji svih objekata biće završeni do početka 2014.
