

» Introduction
The Government of Serbia signed an agreement with the construction firm, Ratko Mitrovic Dedinje, regarding the reconstruction of the building at Nemanjina 9 that will house four important courts following its completion. The agreement was signed by the director of the Agency for Joint Operations of Republic Functions the director of Ratko Mitrovic Dedinje.
The cost of the agreed upon reconstruction is 1.2 billion dinars ($17.6 million dollars) and the first phase is expected to be completed by January 1st, 2007 while the entire works are to be completed by August 1st, 2007.
The owner of the construction company promised that it would make sure to meet all deadlines because this project is a priority and will make sure that all possible capacities are employed.
The Minister of Law was also present at the signing and took the opportunity to state that this building will be one of the key objects for the judicial system in Serbia since all the courts at the republic level will be in one place, thus ensuring the creating of a new network and rationalization of the courts.
Along with the reconstruction of the existing structure, the project envisions the construction of 7500 square metres of new space in the atrium of the building such that the total space will be 29500 square metres. There will be approximately 500 offices, 40 courtrooms, conference rooms, and accompanying spaces on the 11 floors of the building. The project also plans for separate entrances for the judges and employees as well as jail cells.
